And if home hospice care is no longer possible, patients can transition their care to the new Cedars Hospice Center.
Located in Monroeville, the new Cedars Hospice Center now provides a local end-of-life care alternative to families in Pittsburgh’s eastern suburbs and surrounding areas. The Cedars Hospice Center is a peaceful, beautiful and respectful environment in which families can spend their final time together. The technology-advanced and ‘green’ hospice care facility was designed to meet the specialized medical, physical, emotional and spiritual needs of hospice patients and their loved ones, including family lodging accommodations.

Understanding Hospice
When curing the illness is no longer possible, hospice offers patients and families care that promotes patients’ quality of life as they prepare for end-of-life. Hospice can be delivered in the patient’s home, a nursing home, or hospice center. Where hospice occurs is dependent upon the individual’s stage of illness, unique care needs and desires.
