Cedars Community Hospice is a nonprofit organization. We welcome the generosity of others to help us provide patients and their families with our compassionate and experienced hospice services.

Volunteers

Volunteering with Cedars Community Hospice is a way to give back to others in your community and to help others tell The Story. There are many ways to give your personal time and talents. Volunteers donate hours depending on their schedules. It can be different times throughout the day and can vary from two hours a month to many. There is always a way to volunteer including:

  • Give tours to patients and their families.
  • Read to patients at bedside.
  • Show a patient a photo album or scrap book brought to him or her by family or friends.
  • Play a portable instrument, like a guitar, or play a song to a patient.
  • Play the piano or another musical instrument in a designated or approved area for a group of patients and their families or just play uplifting music to be heard by patients and families passing by.
  • Offer to patients and their families personal services which you are qualified to give.
  • Assist nursing and professional staff.
  • Garden in the court yard or around the walking paths.
  • Coordinate the volunteer staffing of the facility.
  • To help be the Cedars Squirrel at a community event.

There are three requirements to volunteering:

  • Completion of Orientation.
  • Criminal Background Check.
  • Two-Step TB Test.
